Martha Slaymaker, Esq., is a licensed attorney in the State of Illinois and is based in Chicago. Martha serves as a public interest fellow for ELC where she assists with legal research and advancing Earth law policies. Martha published an article on Rights of Nature in the Indiana Journal of Global Legal Studies and researched deep-sea mining issues as the Snyder Visiting Research Scholar at the University of Cambridge Lauterpacht Centre for International Law. Martha received her B.A. in Geosciences from Smith College, M.P.A. in Environmental Policy & Natural Resource Management from Indiana University O’Neill School of Public & Environmental Affairs, and J.D. from Indiana University Maurer School of Law.
