LONDON CLIMATE ACTION WEEK 2026
Earth Law Center x Imp(act) Earth Film Festival: Rights of Nature Showcase
Hosted by Earth Law Center, Six Senses Hotel London, and Everyman Cinema, the Rights of Nature Showcase will feature four short films at Everyman Cinema (The Whiteley), followed by an inspiring discussion panel with three guest speakers. This is the third event in a series of private, curated evenings of environmental films and conversations exploring oceans, the Rights of Nature, and ecological caretaking.
Imp(act) Earth Film Festival is a new London-based initiative that launched in March 2026, dedicated to environmental storytelling through film. The festival is being developed as a platform to bring together creatives, scientists, legal thinkers, and cultural audiences to explore ecological challenges through compelling and inspiring human narratives. Imp(act) Earth is being developed in partnership with Earth Law Center to encourage environmental engagement through film-based storytelling.

Workshop: Exploring the Synergies Between Rights of Rivers and Rights of Seas
An invitation-only workshop where we will explore imagination, dialogue, and inquiry on how rivers, estuaries, oceans, and the life they hold might be represented, respected, and heard in the decisions that shape their futures. Hosted by River Rights Network UK and Earth Law Center, this multidisciplinary workshop will explore the opportunities and challenges to developing a cohesive rights-based approach for freshwater and marine environments.
Conducted under Chatham House Rules, this will be a space for thought leaders on river and ocean rights to collaboratively explore how rivers, estuaries, oceans, and the life they hold might be represented, respected, and heard in the decisions that shape their futures.
Mock Ocean Rights Tribunal: Do Coral Reefs Have Rights?
Hosted by Earth Law Center and SOAS University of London, the interactive Mock Ocean Rights Tribunal is a 90-minute immersive youth engagement mock-trial, exploring the question: “Do Coral Reefs Have Rights?” Bringing together students, facilitators, legal thinkers, scientists, and advocates, the event will invite participants to imagine how ocean ecosystems might be represented within legal and governance systems grounded in Rights of Nature and Earth-centered law.
In this activity, students from ages 7 to 11 will step into roles connected to the ocean ecosystem and ocean caretaking and governance to participate in a live environmental hearing. Within groups led by a facilitator, participants will represent different perspectives, including nature, science, traditional knowledge, and industry, to explore how human actions impact marine ecosystems, what different motivations might be for action/inaction, and who is responsible for protecting them.
The format is designed to be participatory and accessible to young people while remaining grounded in environmental realities.
