Full Description
Join us for an engaging evening exploring the global Earth Law movement and how law can better protect the living world.
The program will feature Grant Wilson, Executive Director of Earth Law Center, alongside book editor Herman Greene and others, celebrating the launch of the second edition of Earth Law: Emerging Ecocentric Law – A Guide for Practitioners, the leading law school text on Earth-centered law.
The discussion will then turn to New York’s Green Amendment—a constitutional right to clean air, clean water, and a healthy environment—and what it means for Hudson, the Hudson Valley, and communities across the state. Remarks will also be shared by Florencia Perez, Earth Law Center’s New York Ecocentric Law Fellow.
The evening will also celebrate the opening of Hudson Harmonic—an incredible new venue where nourishment, sound, and space converge for regenerative arts and culture.
Light food and drinks provided. Time for conversation and networking to follow.
Staying Overnight
We welcome visitors from outside Hudson to consider staying the night and making this a fun weekend trip. There are plenty of hotels in town in walking distance, including the Nautical Nest, Hudson Whaler, and Maker Hotel. For those returning via Amtrak (to Penn Station), the last train departs at 8:03 pm. In that case, feel free to arrive a bit early to enjoy pre-event conversations.
About Us
Earth Law Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to give Nature a formal voice and rights in the legal system. Our team of lawyers and advocates supports a new generation of Earth-centered legal movements, including the Rights of Nature and human environmental rights.
Hudson Harmonic is a new venue where nourishment, sound, and space converge for regenerative arts and culture. Housed in a beautifully reimagined former German Lutheran church—later a residence and recording studio—it has recently reopened as a place for gathering, listening, and creative exchange.
