Chiara Grimes is a recent graduate of George Mason University, where she received her master’s in public administration with a concentration in environmental science and public policy. She is a previous graduate of Georgetown University, where she received her bachelor’s in government with a minor in justice and peace studies, and Northern Virginia Community College, where she received her associate’s in political science. She has held many roles in various environmental spaces in her early career, including at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as an Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) Fellow, at the Eco Jurisprudence Monitor as a Research Fellow, and at The Wilderness Society as a Government Relations Intern. Chiara believes we must cultivate and reimagine a world that respects and finds immense value in our environment(s) simply because they exist, not because of any resource-based or economic good they may provide. She has a deep interest in ecofeminist philosophy, ecocentric jurisprudence, and theories of ecological belonging.
