Living Rivers Forum and Festival
Bringing rights of nature to Mexico and the world
You are cordially invited to a forum on the rights of rivers and related movements in Puebla, Mexico (~2 hours from Mexico City). Grant Wilson, Directing Attorney from Earth Law Center will be a keynote speaker, as part of our initiative to restore the heavily polluted Atoyac River.
This conference features prominent voices from Mexico and internationally on new approaches to restoring rivers to health, including by establishing legal rights for rivers. The lessons learned will be applied to Puebla’s local river, the Atoyac, as well as other waterways worldwide. The event will also be an opportunity to sign the Universal Declaration of River Rights.
It's an exciting time for Earth Law in Mexico with Mexico City recently passing a law recognizing the rights of rivers and the campaign plans to expand nationally.
Festival Dates: March 17-22 (includes art, music, food, workshops, etc.)
