Privacy Policy

Earth Law Center respects the privacy of its website users and is committed to maintaining their trust. Online information given to ELC through the website is protected and is never shared, rented or sold. This page provides the details of ELC’s privacy policy.

How is online information received by ELC?

Online information is only received by ELC in two ways: through e-newsletter subscriptions and online donations.

What information is received by ELC through its website?

Through our e-newsletter subscription program, the only information received is the email addresses entered by the users. In the case of donations, ELC staff has access only to the contact information that donors indicate that ELC may see, and the amount donated. ELC never has access to credit card information from donors; this and other donor information is protected according to the privacy policy of ELC’s donation support provider. For those wishing to donate and withhold all contact information, the option of anonymous donations is provided.

What happens to the information ELC receives for subscriptions to their e-newsletter?

Subscription information received is limited to email addresses. Should the subscriber wish to unsubscribe from the e-newsletter, they can do so immediately through the instant "unsubscribe" option on every e-newsletter.

What happens to the information ELC receives through donations?

If contact information is provided, ELC will recognize your donation with a response letter through email or mail. The contact information, if provided, is also added to our e-newsletter list, which provides an instant "unsubscribe" option on every e-newsletter release. The information is not used by any other purpose by ELC, and is never shared, rented or sold.

How may I inquire about my personal information?

Should any subscriber, donor or other ELC website user ever wish to know the status of their information, they should feel free to contact ELC via email, telephone or postal mail, as indicated below. ELC will immediately update or delete contact information as requested.

Regarding external website links:

On our website, ELC includes numerous links to the websites of other organizations. This does not imply that ELC has a partnership or endorses these other organizations. The organizations to which ELC links to are purely for educational purposes, as ELC believes users can expand their knowledge on relevant issues by visiting the websites of other organizations as well as ELC’s own website. ELC does not take responsibility for the privacy policies of these other websites, and by clicking a link to another website, the user acknowledges that they are leaving the ELC privacy policy and entering a new one. The user is encouraged to read the privacy policies of each website they visit.

Regarding other browser information:

ELC does not track IP addresses, browser information or locations of those visiting its website. Google Analytics is installed on this website and may be used to track overall use statistics. For more details about Google's privacy practices, please see Google's privacy center.

What if ELC’s privacy policy changes?

If for any reason ELC’s privacy policy changes, the changes will appear immediately on this page and be highlighted, and an announcement will appear on the home pace directing users to the changes.
